Our verdict

Nothing about the CD 70 is modern, and at Rs 159,900 it costs about Rs 45,000 more than a Chinese 70. What that money buys is the strongest resale value in the market, genuine parts with published prices, and an engine that mechanics in every town know by heart. If you ride daily in the city and plan to sell in a few years, it is still the safest 70cc buy.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Best resale value of any bike in Pakistan
  • Genuine Atlas Honda parts are cheap and sold everywhere
  • Light (82 kg) and easy to handle in traffic
  • About 50 km/l or more in real riding
  • Simple engine that any mechanic can service

What we don’t

  • No self-start, fuel gauge or modern lighting
  • Drum brakes and thin 17-inch tyres limit stopping power
  • Slow with a pillion or on flyovers
  • Cramped for tall riders and two adults on long trips
  • Costs about Rs 45,000 more than Chinese 70cc bikes

Engine and performance

The CD 70 uses a 72cc single-cylinder OHC engine with a 4-speed gearbox and no clutch lever. Atlas Honda does not publish power or torque. In practice it is a city bike: it pulls cleanly up to normal traffic speeds but runs out of breath quickly with a pillion, on flyovers or into a headwind on the highway.

The engine has barely changed in years, which is the point. It is tolerant of rough fuel, poor servicing and heavy daily use, and problems are usually cheap to fix.

Comfort and handling

At 82 kg dry it is easy to push, park and filter through traffic, and new riders pick it up quickly. The trade-off is a small frame, a thin seat and basic suspension. Two adults fit, but long rides get uncomfortable and broken roads come straight through the seat.

The 2.25-17 front and 2.50-17 rear tyres are narrow, and both brakes are drums. Leave extra distance in the wet and when riding two-up.

Fuel economy and running costs

Atlas Honda never published a fuel average. PakWheels' guide puts a run-in, well-maintained bike at about 50-53 km/l with one rider, so plan on roughly 20 litres per 1,000 km. At the Rs 391.30 per litre petrol price in force from 26 September 2026 that is about Rs 7,800.

Servicing is cheap: genuine 20W-40 oil (700 ml) was Rs 860 on Atlas Honda's store when we checked for our price guide, a genuine chain sprocket kit Rs 2,180 and a brake shoe Rs 620.

Features

There is very little: kick start, a speedometer, halogen lights and a backbone frame. No fuel gauge, no self-start, no disc brake, no alloy wheels. The 2027 model, launched in August 2026 at the same Rs 159,900, changed only stickers and added a blue colour.

If features matter to you at this budget, the CD 70 is the wrong bike. Its appeal is reliability and cost, not equipment.

Resale and parts

This is where the CD 70 wins every comparison. Used CD 70s sell quickly in every city, and a well-kept one holds a large share of its price. Genuine parts are sold in every bazaar and on Atlas Honda's own online store with listed prices, and fake parts are also common, so buy from a dealer when you can.

Who should buy it

Buy the CD 70 if you need a daily city ride, want the lowest fuel bill and expect to resell. Look at the Pridor if you are tall or carry a pillion often, and at a 125 if you ride on highways. If the Rs 45,000 saving matters more than resale, a Chinese 70 does the same basic job.
