Our verdict

Atlas Honda's own spec pages show the Dream and the standard CD 70 share the same 72cc engine, 4-speed gearbox, 82 kg weight and tyre sizes. The Rs 11,000 extra pays for looks, and the standard CD 70 is the easier bike to resell. Buy the Dream only if you prefer its appearance.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Same proven 72cc engine as the CD 70
  • Distinct styling and Silver colour option
  • Same cheap genuine parts and servicing
  • Light and easy in city traffic

What we don’t

  • Rs 11,000 more for no mechanical gain
  • Still kick start, drum brakes and no fuel gauge
  • Resale is good but the plain CD 70 sells faster
  • Dream-specific carburettor listing; give mechanics the exact model

What is different from the CD 70

Very little. Atlas Honda lists the same 72cc OHC engine, bore and stroke, 4-speed gearbox, 82 kg dry weight, 136 mm ground clearance and 2.25-17 / 2.50-17 tyres for both. The Dream's page lists a 1,899 mm length and an 8.6-litre tank against 1,897 mm and 8.5 litres for the standard bike.

The difference is styling and finish. Atlas Honda also sells the Dream in Silver, a colour the standard CD 70 does not offer.

Engine and performance

Performance is identical to the CD 70: fine for city speeds, slow with a pillion, on flyovers and on open roads. Atlas Honda does not publish power or torque for either bike.

Comfort, fuel and running costs

Comfort and handling match the CD 70: light and easy to manage, but a small seat and basic suspension for two adults. Fuel economy should also match; PakWheels puts a run-in CD 70 at about 50-53 km/l with one rider.

Most service parts and the 20W-40 oil are shared. One exception noted in our CD 70 guide is a Dream-specific carburettor listing for 2013-on bikes, so give your mechanic the exact model name.

Resale and parts

Resale is strong because it is a Honda 70, but the standard CD 70 is the bike most used-market buyers search for. You may not get the extra Rs 11,000 back when you sell.

Running costs in rupees

Fuel is the biggest running cost. At the 50 km/l that PakWheels suggests for a run-in CD 70, 1,000 km uses 20 litres, about Rs 7,800 at Rs 391.30 per litre (the rate from 26 September 2026). Two-up riding and stop-go traffic push that up.

Oil is 20W-40, about 700 ml per change. Our CD 70 guide recommends the first change at 500 km and then every 2,000 km. Over a year of 12,000 km that is six changes, each well under Rs 1,000 with genuine Honda oil at the price we found on Atlas Honda's store.

Who should buy it

Choose the Dream if you like its look or want Silver and the extra Rs 11,000 does not matter. Everyone else gets the same bike for less with the standard CD 70.
