Yamaha YBR 125G Specs, Fuel Tank, Review & Last Price

3.3/5

Best for: Used-bike buyers on mixed or rough roads

The YBR 125G is the dual-purpose styled YBR, with block-pattern tyres and a taller seat. It is the most-searched Yamaha in Pakistan, but production ended in September 2025.

Last official price

Rs 490,500

Last official price for Metallic Black / Metallic Yellow, effective 1 July 2025; the Matt finish was Rs 493,500. Yamaha Motor Pakistan announced the end of motorcycle manufacturing on 9 September 2025. The widely quoted Rs 485,000 is the pre-July 2025 price. Matches our YBR 125G post (checked 3 October 2026), which found used asking prices of about Rs 2.5-4.5 lakh on PakWheels.

Official price as of 1 July 2025. Prices change often; confirm with the dealer.

Our verdict

The YBR 125G combines a refined SOHC 125 with a front disc, self-start, a 13-litre tank and knobbly-look tyres that cope better with broken roads. It was also the priciest 125 in Pakistan at a last official Rs 490,500, and Yamaha has stopped making motorcycles here. As a used buy at Rs 2.5-4.5 lakh asking prices it can make sense; just factor in uncertain long-term parts support.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Front disc, self-start and 5 gears
  • Block-pattern 18-inch tyres and fork boots suit rough roads
  • Large 13-litre tank
  • Adjustable rear suspension and comfortable ride
  • Fuel gauge, gear position indicator and trip meter

What we don’t

  • Production ended 9 September 2025
  • Parts and dealer support may thin out
  • Last new price was higher than a Suzuki GS 150
  • Taller 785 mm seat than most 125s

Engine and performance

The 125G uses the same engine as the YBR 125: 124cc, air-cooled SOHC, 54.0 x 54.0 mm bore and stroke, 10:1 compression, a CV carburettor and a 5-speed gearbox. Yamaha Pakistan did not publish power or torque; PakWheels lists 9.9 hp and 9.5 Nm, which we treat as unofficial.

It feels smoother than an OHV CG 125, while outright pace is similar to other 125s.

Comfort and handling

Yamaha's specs give a 785 mm seat (10 mm taller than the YBR 125), a 1,295 mm wheelbase, 145 mm ground clearance and 113 kg dry weight. The flyer lists 5-level adjustable rear suspension. The 3.00-18 front and 90/90-18 rear block-pattern tyres grip better on gravel and broken tarmac than road tyres, at some cost in road noise.

The front disc and rear drum on cast wheels give better braking than drum-braked 125s.

Fuel economy and running costs

Yamaha never published a fuel average. PakWheels lists 45 km/l, and PakWheels owner reviews range from about 30 to 50 km/l, most around 35-45. With a 13-litre tank, range is generous. Yamaha's own chart called for Yamalube; its Yamalube Plus was a 10W-40 JASO MA2 semi-synthetic.

Production ended and used prices

Yamaha Motor Pakistan's letter of 9 September 2025 ended motorcycle manufacturing and promised parts and warranty support through dealers. Its website was not loading by October 2026. On 3 October 2026 PakWheels had 393 used YBR 125G ads, asking about Rs 2.5 lakh for a 2017 bike up to Rs 4.5 lakh for a 2024 model.

Buy used with care: check the paperwork, engine and chassis numbers, and the condition of model-specific parts such as the front fender, fork boots and tyres.

Used buying checklist

Whatever the model, check before you pay: match the chassis and engine numbers with the registration book and the seller's CNIC, ask for the original file and a smart card or book in the seller's name, and look for oil leaks, a worn chain and sprockets, and smoke on start-up. Ask a mechanic you trust to listen to the engine from cold.

Who should buy it

A used YBR 125G suits a rider who wants a comfortable, disc-braked 125 for mixed roads and is happy to accept some long-term parts risk. If you want new with a full warranty, compare the Honda CB 125F or the CG 150 instead.
