Honda CB 125F Price in Pakistan, Specs, Fuel Tank & Review

3.4/5

Best for: Riders who want a comfortable 125 with a front disc

The CB 125F is Honda's comfortable, better-equipped 125, with a front disc, alloy wheels and a big tank, but it costs much more than a CG 125 for the same 124cc engine.

Rs 396,900

Our verdict

The CB 125F rides and stops better than any CG 125, and its 12.3-litre tank, longer wheelbase and 119 mm fork make it the most comfortable Honda 125. The catch is the Rs 396,900 price, Rs 158,400 above the CG 125, for an engine with the same bore, stroke and compression. It makes sense if comfort and braking matter to you; as an investment, the CG 125 holds value better.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Front disc brake and alloy wheels
  • Most comfortable Honda 125: long wheelbase, 119 mm fork travel
  • Large 12.3-litre tank
  • Self-start and 5 gears
  • Wider 90/90-18 rear tyre

What we don’t

  • Rs 158,400 more than a CG 125 for the same engine size
  • Heaviest Honda 125 at 122 kg
  • Only 120 mm ground clearance
  • Smaller used market than the CG 125

Engine and performance

Atlas Honda lists a 124.1cc OHV air-cooled engine with the same 56.5 x 49.5 mm bore and stroke and 9.0:1 compression as the CG 125S, with a 5-speed gearbox and self-start. Power and torque are not published; PakWheels lists 10.7 hp, unconfirmed.

At 122 kg dry it is 22 kg heavier than a kick-start CG 125, so do not expect it to feel quicker. It is a calmer bike rather than a faster one.

Comfort and handling

This is where the CB 125F earns its price. It has a 1,294 mm wheelbase, 119 mm of fork travel and 76 mm at the rear, all more than the CG 125, plus a 789 mm seat and wider tyres (2.75-18 front, 90/90-18 rear). The front disc, confirmed at launch in 2019, stops much better than a drum.

One weakness: 120 mm ground clearance is low for Pakistani speed breakers and rural roads.

Fuel economy and running costs

No official figure. PakWheels lists about 35 km/l. The 12.3-litre tank gives a longer range between fills than the CG 125's 9.2 litres. Engine service parts are shared in principle with the CG family, but body panels and brake parts are model-specific and less common in small towns.

Features

Front disc, alloy wheels, self-start, 5 gears and a large tank. PakWheels lists a fuel gauge, trip meter and gear position indicator. That is a big step up from the CG 125, though not much for a bike near Rs 400,000.

Running costs in rupees

At PakWheels' listed 35 km/l, 1,000 km uses about 28.6 litres, roughly Rs 11,200 at Rs 391.30 per litre. That is about Rs 2,500 more per 1,000 km than a bike doing 45 km/l, which adds up for riders covering 1,500 km or more a month.

Engine service items are typical Honda 125 parts and easy to find. Disc pads, alloy rims, the tank and body panels are model-specific, so expect to visit an Atlas Honda dealer for them.

Resale and who should buy it

Resale is fair. It is a Honda, but buyers at this price often look at 150s, and the used market is smaller than the CG 125's. Buy the CB 125F if you value comfort, a front disc and range for daily long commutes. If you want maximum value or plan to sell soon, the CG 125 or CG 125S is the safer choice; if you want more power, a CG 150 is Rs 63,000 more.
