Suzuki GS 150 SE Specs, Fuel Tank, Review & Last Price

3.4/5

Best for: Used-bike buyers who want a GS 150 with a front disc

The GS 150 SE was the dressed-up GS 150 with alloy wheels and a front disc. Pak Suzuki stopped it in July 2022, so today it is a used-only buy.

Last official price

Rs 249,000

Last official price when Pak Suzuki discontinued the SE on 16 July 2022 (standard GS 150 was then Rs 232,000), as reported by PakWheels. Other reports give Rs 256,000. Only available used now.

Our verdict

The SE added the two things the standard GS 150 still lacks, a front disc brake and alloy wheels, to the same 150cc engine. It was discontinued on 16 July 2022 at Rs 249,000, so every SE you see is at least a few years old. A clean used SE can be a sensible budget 150, but compare its asking price with a new GS 150 that comes with a warranty.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Front disc brake, unlike the standard GS 150
  • Alloy wheels
  • Same torquey 150cc engine and 5-speed gearbox
  • Self-start

What we don’t

  • Discontinued in July 2022; used only
  • No warranty on a used bike
  • SE-specific parts (wheels, disc parts, body panels) are harder to find
  • Condition varies widely in the used market

What the SE added

When the Special Edition arrived (a 2016 model is discussed on PakWheels' forums), Suzuki listed new alloy rims, a front disc brake, new graphics, a new front fender, a wider rear tyre and an improved front shock absorber. The engine and gearbox were the standard GS 150's.

Pak Suzuki stopped taking orders on 16 July 2022. PakWheels reported its last price as Rs 249,000 against Rs 232,000 for the standard bike.

Engine and performance

Performance matches the GS 150: a 150cc OHC engine with 5 gears and self-start that is known for pulling well two-up. Suzuki never published power figures; the hp numbers on listing sites are unofficial.

Comfort, brakes and running costs

The front disc is the big practical gain over the standard GS 150, which still has drums at both ends today. Comfort and fuel use are the same as the GS 150; PakWheels lists about 45 km/l. Engine parts are shared with the GS 150, but SE-specific wheels and body panels are harder to find now that it is out of production.

Buying used

Every SE is at least three years old. Check the chassis and engine numbers against the registration book, look for oil leaks and worn disc and chain, and confirm the alloy wheels are not cracked or bent. Compare the asking price with a new GS 150 at Rs 399,900, which comes with a warranty but no disc.

Used buying checklist

Whatever the model, check before you pay: match the chassis and engine numbers with the registration book and the seller's CNIC, ask for the original file and a smart card or book in the seller's name, and look for oil leaks, a worn chain and sprockets, and smoke on start-up. Ask a mechanic you trust to listen to the engine from cold.

Who should buy it

A well-kept SE suits a buyer who wants GS 150 pulling power with a front disc on a used-bike budget. If you want new with a disc, look at the Honda CG 150 or Suzuki GR 150 instead.
