Our verdict

The CG 150 is not a bored-out CG 125. Atlas Honda lists a 149.2cc SOHC engine with a balancer making 11.9 PS and 12.5 Nm, a 5-speed gearbox, self-start, a front disc with combined braking, 171 mm ground clearance and an 11.4-litre tank. The CG 125 has an OHV 124cc engine, 4 gears, kick start, drum brakes and a 9.2-litre tank.

The price gap is large: Rs 238,500 against Rs 459,900. Fuel economy also favours the 125: PakWheels lists 45 km/l for the CG 125 and 35 km/l for the CG 150.

For city commuting the CG 125 is the sensible buy. For regular highway riding with a pillion, the CG 150's power, smoothness and front disc are worth the money.

Specs side by side

A value is marked only where better is clear-cut — a lower price, more cc, a bigger tank, more claimed km/l, more ground clearance, a higher rating, disc over drum, self start over kick — and only when the gap is big enough for a rider to notice. Differences too small to feel, like a cc or two or a tenth of a rating point, are left unmarked. “—” means the figure is not published.
