Our verdict

The RP 70 is one of the cheapest 70s from an established local brand, with a 78cc engine and a slightly bigger 9.5-litre tank than the CD 70. Like other Chinese-design 70s, it saves a lot upfront but gives much of it back at resale, and its 65 km/l claim should be taken with caution. It suits a buyer whose budget simply does not stretch to a Honda.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Rs 111,000, about Rs 48,900 less than a CD 70
  • 9.5-litre tank per Road Prince
  • Light at 80 kg dry
  • Cheap, widely available pattern parts

What we don’t

  • Weak resale compared with Honda
  • Claimed 65 km/l is not a tested figure
  • Kick start and drum brakes only
  • Build quality and dealer support vary by city

Engine and performance

Road Prince lists a 78cc 4-stroke engine with a 4-speed gearbox and kick start, and a claimed top speed of 80 km/h. Power is not published on its site. Expect typical 70cc performance: adequate in city traffic, strained with a pillion.

Comfort and handling

Road Prince lists 1,930 x 790 x 1,190 mm dimensions, a 1,235 mm wheelbase and 80 kg dry weight, with a backbone frame and drum brakes front and rear. The longer wheelbase than the CD 70 may help stability slightly, but overall comfort is similar to other 70s.

Fuel economy and running costs

Road Prince claims 65 km/l, which is a brochure figure. PakWheels lists 45 km/l. Real economy depends heavily on how the bike is ridden and maintained. The engine takes 0.9 litres of oil. Pattern parts are cheap and easy to find.

Price

From 1 October 2026 Road Prince raised its 70cc and 100cc prices by Rs 1,000, according to an official circular reported by Daily Pakistan. The RP 70 is Rs 111,000 and the Passion Plus 70 Rs 119,500. Buyers who paid in full by 30 September kept the old price.

Running costs in rupees

Using PakWheels' 45 km/l rather than Road Prince's 65 km/l claim, 1,000 km needs about 22 litres, around Rs 8,700 at Rs 391.30 per litre. At the CD 70's PakWheels-reported 50-53 km/l, the Honda would use roughly Rs 900 less over the same distance.

The RP 70 takes 0.9 litres of oil. Pattern parts are cheap and fit many 70cc bikes, but check the quality of whatever your mechanic fits.

Resale and who should buy it

Resale is the main drawback: a used Road Prince sells for far less than a used CD 70. Buy it if you need the cheapest reliable-enough new 70 and plan to keep it. If resale matters, the CD 70 is worth stretching for.
